VINOVA2002Vintage spring at Vinova 2002(AWMB,19 February 2002) - Gourmets and wine connoisseurs can again look forward to a choice wining & dining event - Vinova 2002 is just around the corner. Vinova is one of Austria's most well-known wine trade shows and one of only a handful of genuine ordering fairs, boasting an extensive range of exhibits by both Austrian and international winegrowers. "The shows gives both trade visitors and interested members of the public a great opportunity to discover new, top-quality vintages," said Reed Messe Wien Managing Director Michael Stift. "Our visitors can again look forward to a plethora of wines this year, savouring them as they wish on the 4,700 square metres of gross exhibition space." Trade fair manager Ms Tatjana Kupzowa added: "The Austrian exhibitors present span the country's most important wine-growing regions. Areas represented from the province of Burgenland include Hügelland, Neusiedlersee, Mittelburgenland and Pannonischer Reigen, while Lower Austria boasts attendance by Donauland, Weinviertel, Kremstal, and Thermenregion, as well as the associations Carnuntum, Vinovative, Wagramer Selektion, Tattendorfer Weingallerie and other traditional estates. Southern and western Styria are represented by top winegrowers including the Tscheppe estate. The excellent wines from Wiener Rieden can also be tasted at Vienna Classic. The glassware service provided in cooperation with Riedel is also a well-established
tradition. Every visitor is handed a tasting glass in the entrance foyer
which can be swapped for a clean one as required. Lovers of fine spirits can pay a visit to the vintage products of top distillers including Jöbstl, Schosser, Tinnauer, Pirker and Capovilla, since the international spirits fair Destillata is being held concurrently in Hall 18. Its main attractions include the Tasting Corner, in which all award-winnings schnapps from the Distiller of the Year Awards can be tasted for a nominal fee. Vinova is also joined by a newcomer event: the Alles für den Gast Wien food and catering fair. Vinova and Destillata are open to the general public, while access to the halls of Alles für den Gast Wien is restricted to trade visitors. Admission: Reed Messe Wien is staging Alles für den Gast Wien, Vinova and Destillata at the Messezentrum Vienna from 21- 24 April 2002. Eva Meseneder |
