Austrian Wine in Holland

(AWMB, March, 2002) - On the 27th of March at the Hotel Bel Air in The Hague, the Dutch wine cognoscenti will be presented with delicacies from Austria's wine regions.

Around 40 exhibiting winemakers and importers will show some of the jewels in Austria's crown. With five outstanding vintaqes in a row under Austria's belt and great strides being made in the most important export markets of Germany, Switzerland, USA and the Netherlands, expectations are running very high.

The internationally renowned journalist Hubrecht Dujiker will illustrate the diverse nature of Austria's red wines. He decided on this theme following a research trip in Vienna last summer.

"The press in Holland have really picked us out as a top wine country. This means that our great wines have real opportunities in the best restaurants. First signs show that one should be considering Austria as a major subject in Holland," says Michael Thurner, director of the Austrian Wine Marketing Board in Vienna
